The Big Easy Trip

Wow - what a fun time!! Three couples from our street joined us in New Orleans this past weekend - Dixons, Jenkins, and Hudsons.

Lots going on this weekend - Voodoo Fest, LSU/Georgia game, and the residents of Mesa Verde Circle. With two big events, I thought it'd be much more crowded, but it was pretty low key...that is until we hit Razzoo's on Bourbon.

Razzoo's is one of those places that draws you in and you never want to leave. Many of you know that Trey and I got married in New Olreans. While we were there in 2003, we spent the majority of each day at Razzoo's...and we have every time we've gone back...including this trip. I can say we never step foot in another bar while we were there this trip.

Although it was nice to get away for some adult interaction and fun, we sure did miss Nathan and Millie. It was great to get home and give them big hugs and kisses.

First evening alone

It's been 7 1/2 months since Millie was born and I think this may be the first night that I've had to get Nathan and Millie down by myself. I can't believe I haven't done it before now!! The mighty hunter (aka Trey) wanted to go hunting before our big trip to New Orleans this weekend. It was a relatively easy evening - Nathan ate and played well, Millie crawled around some, they played in the bath together, we read books...our whole nightly routine. Then it came time to go to bed. Nathan was thirsty, then hungry, then wanted a stuffed animal from downstairs, then another, then some grapes, then another animal...you get the idea - he was stalling. All this while I was trying to nurse Millie and get her down. Finally, they settled down and are both asleep now.

Did Trey get a deer you ask...nope, no deer tonight.

Crawling and a new tooth!!

I went to the HR Southwest Conference in Fort Worth last week. Before I left, I told Trey, "Millie is going to crawl while I'm gone." Well, sure enough, Millie crawled on Thursday. Although I missed it, she was quick to show off her new skills on Saturday. Interesting that she started crawling at the same age as Nathan - 7 1/2 months.

She sure does want to be wherever her big brother, Nathan, is and he's constantly trying to keep her away from his toys. I figured this would happen, but it's funny to see it happening with your own children.

Millie was quite the fusser on Saturday, too. Come to find out she was working on her third tooth - a top one this time. It finally came through and she was better Sunday - thank goodness. I can't imagine how bad it hurts those little gums.

First Blog

I've seen so many wonderful blogs out there and thought I'd give it a try in my "spare" time. Between the kids, work, and a little socializing here and there, there's not much time, so I'll do my best to keep it updated.

First things first - my pride and joy - Nathan and Millie.
